A key highlight of the conference was the launch of the Network of Early Career Researchers on Digitalisation and Internationalisation (NECREDI). The network was established as a Community of Practice of the ANIE and is one of the outputs of the EU funded DigiGrad (Internationalisation and Digitalisation of Postgraduate Training and Research for the attainment of Africas Regional and Global Development Goals) Project that ANIE has been coordinating (2023-2026).

The aim of the network is to enhance the quality and relevance of postgraduate training and research in African universities by harnessing the opportunities provided by digitalization and internationalization. The goal is to establish and consolidate a network of African early career researchers for internationalization and research collaborations, which will last beyond the DigiGrad project lifetime. Additionally, NECREDI presents a significant step towards strengthening Africaโ€™s role in global research.
